Brittany Cephas MEd, LCPC, NCC

Licensed Psychotherapist/Owner


Hello!  I am Brittany Cephas, a Licensed Psychotherapist located in Columbia, Maryland.  I provide mental health services to school-aged children and adolescents who are having a difficult time coping with social and emotional related issues.  I am also a Professional School Counselor; and in this role, I have supported students in grades K– 8 through providing individual and group counseling services, psychoeducational supports, and classroom guidance lessons.  


I have over 10 years of mental health experience in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.  I am passionate about helping my clients thrive.  My approach to treatment is unique because I use mindfulness, motivational interviewing, social skills training, creative expression, and movement that I tailor exclusive needs of my clients.  My style is warm, creative, and fun!  


Most of all, I enjoy building meaningful relationships with my clients; it is fundamental in the work that I do, and I believe it is instrumental to their success.

I have a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology from Coppin State University, and an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies from the Community College of Baltimore County.  I am a National Certified Counselor, and Certified Yoga Teacher- 20-hour training for children and adolescents.


My Interests and Other Fun Facts:

I am a wife and a mother.  My greatest pastime is spending time with my family, loved ones, and friends.  My favorite color is blue.  My favorite food is pizza and ice cream!  I enjoy baking, shopping, watching movies, trying new foods, and traveling.

Tarisa Brinson, LMSW

Mental Health Therapist


Greetings! My name is Tarisa Brinson. I am a Licensed School Social Worker. I provide individual and group counseling services to adolescents and teens who have a learning disability and emotional disturbance. I also conduct boundary and classroom management training for teachers and staff. As well as provide behavioral support to help students have a positive learning experience in the school environment.


I have a passion for helping at-risk children and families develop the necessary coping techniques in order to improve their overall quality of life. As a social worker, I have empowered numerous at-risk students and their families to become resilient against the trauma and barriers that prevented them from achieving success in school and their community. My foundation in the treatment process is created by building positive relationships and encouraging individuals to recognize their strengths and discover the best solutions to their problems. I am knowledgeable about an array of community resources that aid children and families in need. My level of experience combined with personal characteristics and professional knowledge of social work practices and mindfulness techniques have helped me excel as a Social Worker.

I am Certified School Social Worker, with certification in Safe Crisis Management, Therapeutic Aggression Control Techniques (TACT2), and CPR.


My Interests and Other Fun Facts:

I am a full-time mommy to a toddler! I love being a mom and trying new activities. My favorite colors are Red and Mint. My favorite places to go are the beach, Starbucks, and Target! My favorite thing to do is hangout with my family and friends. My favorite foods are crab legs and sushi.
